Tourism is the fastest growing industry in the world.

The philosophy underpinning the establishment of peace parks is that nature based tourism will provide economically sustainable livelihoods to the people living in and adjacent to the parks.

The Southern African Wildlife College and the SA College for Tourism are two of the regions most prestigious training institutes, and flagships in the development of skills for people to continue to benefit from conservation in the future.

The Southern African Wildlife College opened its doors in 1997 and since then more than 2000 students from 20 African countries have received training in natural resource management.

The SA College for Tourism was established in 2001 to train women in hospitality skills necessary to obtain employment at guesthouses, lodges and other accommodation facilities in and around peace parks.

Peace Parks has established an Adopt-a-Student campaign which allows donors to fund the training of a student at either of the colleges. For the Southern African Wildlife College Adopt-a-Student campaign, click here. For the SA College for Tourism Adopt-a-Student campaign, click here.
